Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences (CHÉOS)

Located at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences (CHÉOS) is a centre of the Providence Health Care Research Institute and the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine. CHÉOS is a multidisciplinary health research centre representing a hospital-system and university partnership that aims to bridge health sciences research and clinical practice. CHÉOS activities are separated into two divisions: conducting targeted research initiatives and; providing cross-cutting research support services. CHÉOS Scientists work across a broad range of disciplines, including health economics, addictions and mental health, epidemiology, cardiology, and nephrology. CHÉOS provides expertise throughout the health research value chain, with a concentration in methodology, logistics, statistics, program evaluation, health economics, and data management. CHÉOS supports both clinical trials and health services research, supporting projects across all research disciplines

Dr. Robert Sindelar completed a MSc (1975) and a PhD (1980) in medicinal chemistry and natural products at the University of Iowa. Dr. Sindelar was previously chair and professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Mississippi (1993-2000), as well as the interim dean of the School of Pharmacy and interim executive director of the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Mississippi (2000–2001).Dr. Sindelar is currently professor and dean emeritus of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC. He has also served as Vice President, Research & Academic Affairs at Providence Health Care, president of the PHC Research Institute, and Associate Dean, Research, at UBC's Faculty of Medicine.
